How Did I Get Here?
Several times on my spiritual journey I have been
nearly homeless, penniless, alone and wondering
whether I could pull the pieces of my life back
together. As my life seemed to spin out of control I
would ask myself 'How did I get here?'. I had been, I
thought, doing all of the 'right' things but seemed to be
in a cycle where I would find myself in the same
situation, over and over again. After some time, I
learned to stop the cycle and put myself on a path that
was more powerful, secure and peaceful. I discovered
that when we ask the question is when we are ready
for the answer and change the direction of our journey.
Most of us do what we believe will make our lives
happy and secure, only to find that despite our best
efforts things don't always work out the way we think
they will. Then, we our lives spin out of control we
wonder how we got there. It is when we can ask that
question that we are ready to change. But if we don't
do things differently, if we do not honor our dreams
and our passion, we will find ourselves in the same
situation over and over again.
This doesn't mean that we are failing in our spiritual
growth. We could be choosing the path that
looks 'safe', that responds to our fears or that is what
we know. The path filled with drama, pain and
unhappiness is what we have come to change. When
we are tired of those things we will be ready to choose
something else. That takes a measure of trust and it
also means that we must make choices that are
totally unfamiliar to us and whose outcome we are
unsure of. There is a turning point that we reach, that
point where we ask the question, that is the deciding
point for change. But we must step out of our fear, out
of what is comfortable or known, and do something
different.
Our spiritual journey is about creating something new
and different, learning to create lives filled with joy,
peace, unconditional love and abundance. When we
look at our world today those things seem to be in
short supply and we wonder when they will ever
happen. But it starts with us. Each one of us, when we
learn to create heaven in our own life, sets the energy
and creates an example for the rest of the world. This
is what we have come to do and when we wonder
how we got where we are, we are ready to make
changes and the Universe will provide us with
answers.

Helping the Helpless
Many healers ask me why about particularly difficult,
helpless clients who never seem to want to change.
All they want to do is complain about how bad their
lives are, how sick they are and while they accept
treatment and listen to their healer's advice, they
come back with the same problems. It's very
frustrating to be deal with clients who are unwilling to
make changes in their life but often they don't want to
change, they just want to be validated. And they are not
wrong, they are right.
Yes, their lives are a mess and their health is bad and
they are unhappy. All we can do is agree with them.
When they are ready to change, they will ask for advice
on how to change. But until they get the
acknowledgement they need, they will continue to tell
their story until someone agrees with them. And that is
not only true of clients, we all have people in our lives
who repeat their story to us and who become
frustrated and even angry when we try to tell them
about other ways to manage their life.
One of my clients constantly complains about his
unhappy marriage. But it has been that way for twenty
years and he knows that he is the only one who can
do something about it. I have spent many hours with
him, discussing alternatives and solutions. When I
suggested radical changes in his thinking and
behavior became very angry with me. Not because he
had not considered it, but because he didn't want to
talk about divorce, he wanted to talk about his
problems and for me to validate the efforts that he was
making in his marriage. It doesn't make sense to me,
to be focusing on his problem when I can offer a
solution, but it's a solution he is not ready for.
Healing is a gift that we can extend to others but until
they want to receive it, they will ignore it or become
angry with us when we force it on them. As much as
we know what will help someone be happy, healthy,
find peace or create the change that they want, our
efforts to help them see what needs to be changed
will be wasted until they are ready to change. All we
can do is agree with them, know that they are right and
that their lives are perfect as they are (because they
created their reality). Then, when they are ready to
accept the healing that we can provide they will find us
and will be ready to listen.

Uriel's Message-Live in Compassion
Humanity's greatest challenge is to live in
compassion, to see themselves and others as they
are and to accept every person's divinity and spiritual
wholeness as the truth. By living in compassion you
see others without judgment or expectations, so no
one can disappoint or hurt you. You become your
fullest potential because there is nothing to hold you
back. When each person does this, the world knows
peace because there is no reason for war. Everyone
has what they need, so there is no lack. This is all
possible when humanity lives in compassion.
When you live in compassion you live through your
Source connection and your perfection. There is then
no need to be jealous or envious of others, to want
what they have because you remember that every part
of your life is perfect and you have all that you are able
to create for yourself. Because you no longer
condemn or judge yourself you are free to create a
reality that reflects your true potential. You have no fear
because there is nothing to fear.
When you live in compassion you can extend
compassion to others. Rather than reacting to what
they do or say from your own pain or fear, you see
them through the eyes of your God Self and can
extend unconditional love and forgiveness to them in
every circumstance and situation. Compassion opens
the door to understanding and with that you are able to
see past others' fear and know them as spiritual
beings having a human experience. Once you can see
beyond fear you see everyone with detachment
because all of the emotional connections are
transformed. Then you understand and with
understanding comes acceptance.
Each person has agreed to undertake a spiritual
journey and to contribute to the reconnection of the
spiritual and material planes. And each one does it in
their own way. With compassion, you do not judge
others' journeys because they are not like your own.
You are then aware of how they contribute to your
journey and lessons and are even able to gain
understanding of their own lessons. Compassion will
help create heaven on earth because it will release
you from your karmic journey and enable peace,
unconditional love and joy to become the truth.
Compassion will remove the veil between the spiritual
and material and allow everyone, everywhere, to allow
love to become the prevailing energy on the earth.

Today's Children--Redefining Intelligence
Although Indigos are highly intelligent, they are often
classified as 'special needs' children because they
perform poorly on tests and do not do well in highly
regulated school environments. Crystal children are
often classified in the same way because they have
strong opinions about what they will do and want to be
treated fairly and with respect. Both of these energies
are made to believe that they are not as smart as
other children because they cannot meet standard
requirements for measuring intelligence. Yet when
they are put in the right environment they outshine
everyone. Maybe it's time to redefine intelligence.
My older Indigo son was always in special needs
classes because he is very dyslexic and classified as
ADHD. What that meant was he didn't absorb
information as quickly as other children and needed
extra time. He also could not sit still in class and was
very disruptive. For years he thought he was not as
smart as other children and that led him to make life
choices that did not reflect his intelligence. Both of my
Indigo children were so stressed when they had to
take tests that they did poorly, no matter how much we
prepared. So they were classified as less intelligent
than other children.
My Crystal son and grandson take their time to learn
and don't like to be pushed into things. They also
demand respect from their peers and educators,
which means that they often get into trouble for voicing
their opinions. And they are labeled as difficult and
argumentative even though they are very
compassionate and defend those who they believe
are being treated badly. Because they can be
nonconformist (although not in the same way as
Indigos) they are automatically treated as less
intelligent than other children.
What is intelligence? Is it a measure of what children
can memorize and repeat? I know many very
intelligent Indigos who don't learn well from books but
who are amazingly talented, philosophical, and
masters of their gifts. The Crystal children I know are
thoughtful, considerate and we have wonderful
conversations, even though they are very young. They
have an understanding of the world that I know I didn't
have at their age. Rather than measuring their
intelligence, we could let them experience it, by
allowing them to focus on what they are good at. By
not forcing them to learn what society thinks they
should know, learning will become another tool for
them, one that they will enjoy and use as a means to
expand their gifts. They will find those connections
once they are presented with an education system
that no longer seeks a standard for intelligence. They
are making us aware of what needs to be changed
and it will, in time. Because once Indigos and Crystals
decide they will or won't do something, they will stand
their ground until change happens.
