Avoiding the Lessons
During the course of our life journey we seem to move
from one lesson to another, often repeating the same
lesson several times. We believe that these lessons are
there to teach us what we need to know to move
forward along our spiritual path. And so we accept
each lesson as it comes, struggling through it and using
what we have learned to hopefully make other choices
in the future. But what if the true purpose of our
lessons was to learn how to avoid them, bypassing the
potential pain and simply stepping into the knowledge
without the experiences that the lessons present us
with?
Each of our life lessons is a slice of the past, a
reminder of a moment in time when we experienced the
same situation and were faced with similar choices. Our
lesson then becomes a matter of choice instead of
experience. What do we choose this time and how do
we resolve the situation? Do we go through it and learn
through hindsight, or can we resist the temptation to
fix the past by repeating the experience, resolving that
this time we will make different choices? Can we make
those decisions at the beginning instead of later, when
we are mired in chaos?
Relationships are the best example of this process.
Imagine that you are beginning a relationship with
someone and you realize that there are issues with this
person. You are reminded of past relationships and
similar experiences with others; your intuition tells you
that this is a repeat of the past and you feel
uncomfortable. Do you continue to move forward,
hoping that this time will be better, or do you step out
of the situation and save yourself the pain of this
lesson and simply learn it by giving yourself the choice
to let it go?
The Shift is bringing us the insight and clarity to see
our lessons before we experience them so that we can
make a choice to have peace and joy in our lives,
without first having to experience pain, sorrow and
disappointment. We have the opportunity to avoid
lessons as long as we make the choice to do so. It is
not necessary for us to experience every lesson, just
to recognize it for what it is and to choose what we
want in our lives. If that is pain, then we will have
painful lessons, but if it is peace, joy and unconditional
love, then we can look at the lessons that offer us the
opposite and simply choose to let them go. That is our
Shift, the ability to bypass difficult experiences and
choose a reality that brings us joy. This week, look at a
difficult experience that is perhaps just beginning. Can
you choose to let it go? Is it necessary for you to walk
through the pain to learn the lesson? The Shift tells us
that pain is no longer part of our spiritual growth and it
is possible for everyone. Are you ready to learn without
pain? Give yourself the gift of joy and recognize that
you have choices in all of your lessons and use your
power do so.

The Passing of the Old
I just returned from my grandfather's funeral and with
his death a chapter of my life has closed. He was my
last living grandparent and his death marks the end of a
generation in my family. Grandpa was quite elderly and
in poor health and was ready to move on. I have many
fond memories of time spent with him and will enjoy
those. I am writing about this because many people are
moving on at this time, their time here is over and their
participation in our lives, from a material perspective, is
ended. It can be difficult for us because it also marks
the end of a passage in our lives and a sign that times
are changing and life will not be as it was before.
While we can prepare for this kind of change, when it
happens it is always a difficult and unexpected
surprise. The passing of the old marks the beginning of
the new and we have been told that the Shift also
marks a time when many people would be given the
opportunity to stay or to move on. When those people
are elderly, the choice to us is clear. But when they
are younger, the choice becomes more confusing. We
forget that we are all spiritual beings who are here on a
journey and who have choices about how long we will
be here.
The movement of life, from birth to death, has always
been a mystery to us and at this time, when we are all
moving forward on a quantum leap into higher
dimensions, why people make the choices that they do,
to stay or to leave, can be difficult for those who
remain. As with every life decision, their decision has
nothing to do with us, it is simply time for them to end
their journey here on earth. For my grandfather, death
was a relief; however, when my young grandson died a
few years ago, the purpose behind his choice was more
difficult to fathom.
We have been told that the Shift would bring many
changes and it has. As we make decisions to change
our life situation, others are making those changes as
well. And for many, that decision has to do with
whether they are willing and able to continue their
journey here. Some find the journey at this time too
difficult and they choose to leave; others make the
decision to stay. Whatever their choice, we must
remember that the Shift affects everyone in different
ways and live in the present, enjoying each person's
presence in our lives, being in the moment and making
the most of each life experience. We are all responsible
for our choices and in charge of our journey. The
choice to stay or to leave belongs to everyone. We
can mourn those who leave and respect their choices,
remembering that we are never separated from them
and that they are still with us on the other side. I
thank my grandfather for his presence in my life, for
the wonderful memories of time spent with him and
wish him well on the next part of his journey.

Uriel's Message-Are you Willing?
Your first step to understanding and healing begins with
your willingness to do so. You must be willing to open
yourself up to the opportunities for a different reality,
for joy and peace, for unconditional love to be the
prevailing energy in your life. When you are willing for
change to happen, the Universe can begin working with
you to open the doors to new opportunities. Nothing
can happen, however, until you are willing to release
the old and allow the new to enter. Your free will is
what you must surrender in order to heal the past and
move forward into a new and different future.
You must be willing to release the past and what you
know to be true about every aspect of your life before
any of the many resources that you have available to
you can assist you. Even in your most dire moment, if
you are unable to surrender to the process of healing
and of change, you will remain where you are. Too
often, the fear of the unknown, of not
understand 'how' things will happen prevents you from
willingly embracing the unknown, even if you can see
the promise of joy that it brings. Are you willing to 'let
go and let God' when that means not knowing what will
happen next?
The belief that you must know what the next step
entails is the only thing can stands between you and
true freedom. This is more than freedom to do and
have what you want, it is also freedom from lack of
abundance, from pain, and from suffering. When you
are willing you freely release all fear and every need to
control the unfoldment of events and situations and
allow the Universe to work with the desires, dreams
and wishes that you express and bring them to you in
the best way possible.
When you are willing, you put your will aside and
become co-creators of your reality with the Universe.
The end result is far greater than anything that you
could create yourself. This is the process of surrender,
when you relinquish the need to control, to know and
to understand and allow your spiritual nature to guide
you on your journey. Then you can experience
the 'peace that passes all understanding' because you
experience your reality through joy. This week, allow
yourself to be willing to release in an area of your life
that you wish to heal. Be open to any new experience,
without judgment or expectation, and allow yourself to
be guided into co-creation of the change you wish to
manifest. Simply put forth your wish for what you want
to manifest to the Universe and be willing. Then watch
the miracles occur.

Redefining the Child
There is a new generation of children in the world and
they are known by many names, including Indigo and
Crystal Children, Star Children, Light Children. Whatever
name they are known by, they are a generation that
we have never seen before and they have special
needs, gifts and talents. The Crystal and Indigo
children represent the new, higher energetic patterns
that are arriving to change the Earth's vibrational
frequency.This new series provides information on
these children and the wonderful gifts they bring to the
world. Along with their special gifts and talents, they
also have certain needs and the purpose of this series
is to help them and their parents find solutions to these
needs so that Indigos and Crystals can do the work
that they came here to do.
The Crystal children have very gentle energy and a
knowing sense about them. They seem to be wise
beyond their years and often look much older than they
are, even as small children. They are different from
Indigos in that they are less intolerant and easier to
work with, to a point. One thing that they do have
problems with, however, is their emotions. Crystals do
not handle frustration well and their tempers can often
get the best of them until they grow into their
emotions and learn how to handle them. Unlike the
Indigos, they are not angry but they can get very
frustrated and their frustration seems to extend from a
feeling that there are things that they should be able
to do and cannot, often because they are not age
appropriate. Since they are 'old souls' this doesn't sit
well with them and they can voice their displeasure
very loudly and with many tears. These episodes do
not last but they can be trying while they are in
progress.
Both Indigos and Crystals have problems with the
restrictions that are placed on them because they
are 'children'. Society has created rules of behavior
and expectations around children and what is expected
of them. While we have modified, to some degree, the
belief that children should be 'seen and not heard' we
still treat children like children. And these newer
generations, like Indigos and Crystals, defy these long-
held definitions. Last week over 100 children
participated in the Children's Water Forum, held in
conjunction with the World Water Forum. Each of these
children, many from less developed nations, are
spearheading efforts to teach people about sanitation,
hygiene and water conservation in their countries.
Their biggest difficulty is convincing people to listen to
them because there are 'children'. And adults generally
think that children don't or can't have strong and useful
opinions about important issues.
But what is being shown by these children is that not
only are they passionate about what they are doing,
they are urging leaders to put aside their politics,
paperwork and processes and address the issues at
hand. These children work hard at what they see are
important issues on the world stage and they work in
their own countries and with each other to bring about
positive change. And their efforts are generating
positive results. I was so proud to read about these
children because they are doing the work that they
came here to do and they are being heard. The news

wonderful example of how children are working to bring
change to their countries. As more advanced
generations are born into the world, we will have to
further re-define how we view children and what we
expect of them. They do have much to teach us and, if
given the opportunity, can bring change to the world,
just as they came to do.
