This week's messages
Disbelief and Denial
Recently, I listened to a friend describe how another
friend had betrayed her. At first she was angry, 'I am
never speaking to her again'. Then she was in
disbelief, 'I can't believe she did that'. And then she
was in denial, 'I am sure she didn't mean it that way,'
all in the space of a five minute conversation. It is hard
to accept that someone we care about, whether it's a
friend, partner or family member, deliberately does
something that shows how little they respect or care
for us. So we go into disbelief and denial, convincing
ourselves that they didn't mean it or it didn't happen
the way we imagine it.
We don't want to accept the fact that someone has
betrayed us because we believe that it is about us,
about how little value we have to them. So we refuse
to believe it or deny it altogether because that makes
us feel better. I know people who live in a state of
constant denial, refusing to acknowledge any negative
experience. They hold firmly to the belief that if they
try hard enough, the person who hurts them will finally
come around. And so they continue through difficult
and painful experiences, often repeating them several
times, to make this happen.
When we live in disbelief and denial, we lose sight of
the lesson and become stuck in the pain. The person
who betrays us is showing us that it is time to pull our
energy from the situation, that we have moved past
them and our energies are no longer in synch. It is not
about whether we are not 'enough' for them, it is that
they are no longer right for us. Can we accept that and
realize that we are being given an opportunity to
change our life and seek more fulfilling and rewarding
experiences?
Many relationships are ending with the Shift and this
often happens through betrayal. Suddenly, our best
friend does something very hurtful, our partner cheats
on us or we don't get a promised promotion at work.
These are all signs that doors are closing. Will we
accept and acknowledge that it is time for us to move
on? That is one of our options, the other option is to
stay in the situation and try even harder to make it
work. Living in disbelief and denial creates difficult and
painful lessons for us, lessons that we can avoid when
we acknowledge our ability to choose self-affirming life
that honors our power and energy, accept what 'is' and
move on.

Blessings to you all!
The September article is posted on the Uriel Heals
website and this month's message is about Dealing
With Betrayal. As we move forward with the Shift,
many of our relationships are ending, often through
betrayal. How do we deal with it? Betrayal can be a
healing lesson for us if we understand the process and
what it means for us. This week's lesson discusses the
first step in that process, Disbelief and Denial.
Archangel Uriel's message is about Spending Time in
Prayer. This week's Today's Children article is about
Indigo Women and Girls. The series on Indigos and
Suicide is available on the Today's Children page in
response to your
requests. Read the newsletter in Spanish at Zona
Mistica. The link is on the Uriel Heals home page.

A Bird in the Hand?
There is an old expression 'A bird in the hand is worth
two in the bush' that we accept as meaning that it is
better to hang on to what you have instead of chasing
after something else. Well, that works for some things,
but not at this time. This belief also goes against what
we are learning with the Shift, that if what we have
isn't right for us we should release it so that something
else can replace it. That is hard to do because it takes
faith and focus and the ability to maintain our trust in
the Universe to deliver what we have manifested. And
we cannot be afraid that the Universe won't deliver.
Because manifestation is not always immediate, it can
be difficult to let go of something if there is nothing to
replace it on the immediate horizon. If we release a
relationship, for example, we may have to spend some
time alone before another one comes. Or if we release
our job, can we trust that another situation, more
suited to our skills and dreams, will be available to us?
If we can't trust in this way, we will hang on to what
we have until something new shows up. But letting go
and having faith can be our lesson.
I'm not advocating that everyone quit their job
tomorrow, but the fear that a replacement will not
come immediately can cause us to hold on to
something that we really need to release. The release
does not have to be material, as in turning in a
resignation; it can be spiritual, where we acknowledge
that we are not happy and begin the process of
creating something else. The energy that we are
placing in holding onto a situation often holds us back
from creating something else. Our willingness to
acknowledge that our current reality does not meet our
needs is all it takes to begin the process of release.
The process of manifestation begins when we ask, not
when we receive. Asking is the easy part; trusting that
we will receive is more difficult. When what we are
experiencing does not bring us joy, it is time for a
change. That change is easier when we acknowledge
that we are ready to release and when it does go, to
know that we are free to create what we really want.
All we have to do is be prepared to let those things
that no longer serve us move on and trust that the
Universe always answers our requests. If your 'bird in
the hand' is not serving your Highest Good, set it free
and you will set yourself free to manifest a more joyful,
loving and abundant reality.

Uriel's Message-Spend Time in Prayer
Prayer is something that takes place in church, on
Sundays and holy days and in the presence of priest or
minister. Yet prayer is a powerful tool that you can use
every day, to keep the energy moving in your life, to
manifest your reality, to bring more joy into your life
and to bring peace to the world. Prayer is more than
what you have been taught to believe and it is an
important tool for Lightworkers. Prayer connects you to
the Source in a powerful way and also connects you to
your own divinity so that you work through Spirit in
everything that you do.
Spending time in prayer acknowledges your purpose,
mission, divinity and power. It is your time to
communicate with Source, to maintain your focus on
your goals, to ensure that you are aligned with your
purpose, to obtain answers to your questions and to
get help with every problem. Through prayer you allow
Spirit to guide you and give you clarity in all areas of
our life. In prayer there is no fear, for you speak to the
Source of unconditional love, which does not know
fear. Spending time in prayer reminds you of who you
are and that you are never alone.
When you pray remember that your words have power.
You are communicating with the Source, which you are
part of. You are as wonderful and powerful as every
other being in the Universe. You do not need to beg
God for what you want; when you pray you
acknowledge your power and ability to manifest the
reality that you desire. In your prayer you can ask for
help, which is not a sign of weakness, it is an
acknowledgement of your many helpers whose mission
is to help you with your work. When you ask for
guidance you are not admitting that you are weak, you
are taking the situation to a higher level, so that it can
be resolved in accordance with your Highest Good and
the good of all. The answers you seek will be given to
you, perhaps not immediately but watch for the signs,
they will be there.
Spending time in prayer is important because you need
to remember who you are if you are to do the work you
came here to do. Many of you are confused and
frightened by changes that are happening. All is in
order. Spending time in prayer will take you to a
peaceful place where all is well, where you can release
your fear and step into your power. Prayer is the
acknowledgment of the power of Spirit and
unconditional love. When you pray you spread your
light to the world. Lightworkers can unite their efforts
to bring peace, joy and unconditional love to the world
through prayer. This week, spend time in prayer.
Remember that each time you communicate with
Source, it is a prayer. Pray for peace, unconditional
love and joy, see it as being true and you will bring this
energy to the world and everyone in it.

Today's Children--Indigo Women and Girls
Today's Indigo generation, who are in their teens and
early twenties, are having a tough time right now.
Many are entering the world of work and they don't
really know what to do. They have trouble finding their
place in a world that doesn't seem to be ready for
them. Indigos have many choices available to them and
there are fewer distinctions between what boys and
girls can do with their lives. For example, I remember a
time when girls could not wear pants to school and had
to wear dresses, even in winter. Girls did not play
competitive or team sports; boys did that. Girls could
be mothers, nurses or secretaries. Boys were doctors,
lawyers and corporate executives. That has all
changed. Much of these changes are due to the efforts
of the early Indigos, who refused to conform to the
molds that society set for them. Many of those
changes were brought about by women.
For example, Rosa Parks' actions began the Civil Rights
Movement in the U.S.; women have more freedom in
the workplace, reproductive and marital choices, and
can pursue professional careers because of the efforts
of early Indigo women. In the face of these successes,
what are today's Indigo girls and young women going to
do? What will their claim to fame be and how will they
create that? Many of the Indigo girls I know are
struggling to find their identity and push back against
the roles that they believe they are supposed to play.
Some do it gracefully, by quietly pursuing their goals.
Others do it rebelliously, by doing the exact opposite of
what we expect of them. They dye their hair green,
paint their nails black, pierce or tattoo every body part
and challenge us to connect with their inner beauty.
Being on the cusp of change is not easy for a
generation and it carries much responsibility. Indigo
girls were raised by mothers who still lived with the old
paradigms of 'women's work' and want to do something
meaningful with their lives. They just don't know what
that is. The old values and old stereotypes will not
work for them and they don't always have the
confidence to create new ones. But they are trying and
they are, to some degree, succeeding. Those who are
rebellions are still in the 'lost' phase, where they are
trying to find themselves. Many will still struggle for a
few more years, until they are in their mid-twenties.
Others will step into a new and challenging role without
a second thought. One thing most will not do is marry
young and have children-they are too emotionally
immature and insecure for that. But they will eventually
do those things too, when they are ready.
Their ambiguity, fear and confusion manifests as anger
and many girls are challenged by their anger, as it is
not an accepted feminine trait. If we can help them
channel their fear and anger into more constructive
activities, we can help them find their niche and begin
to create their lives. This will take time, but it is not
impossible. When they finally find what they are
passionate about, they will step into it and all of the
struggle of the past will be gone. They'll ask us what all
of the fuss was about as they have short memories for
those kinds of things. As parents, we can simply listen
to them, steer them (gently) in the right direction,
praise their successes and remind them that their
failures are simply choices that were not right for them.
Maintaining good boundaries with them is important as
they will take advantage of every situation if we allow
them to. And, when they do find their passion, give
them our support and love. Their real struggle is to do
something that has value, to make an important
contribution and to make a difference. They feel that
they have big shoes to fill. They had strong role
models, women who wanted to make a difference, to
change the world. Today's Indigo girls will do that too,
in new and different ways and they will help bring a
new world to fruition, ready for the next generation.
