Ascending through the Void
Our choice to walk the path of Ascension means that
we agree to allow our spiritual self to become the
leading force in our lives. With this choice we
acknowledge our divinity and then seek to create
balance between our human and spiritual selves. The
path of Ascension is a merging of these two aspects of
our being and it creates limitless possibilities for us. But
often, it can seem as though we have chosen the
wrong way because our lives can become more
chaotic, difficult, and confusing and nothing seems to
work. We have not chosen the wrong path, we are
simply in between where we were and where we are
going, a void we must cross to create the next step on
our spiritual journey.
When we choose the spiritual path we believe that our
lives will be easier, more joyful, more fulfilling and
everything will be wonderful. And they will be, in time.
But when we choose the spiritual path we also agree to
shed our emotional and psychic baggage and that is
not a process that we simply release, it is something
that we go through. It can be a difficult, convoluted
process where we are faced with every fear, every
emotion and experience that has ever created pain in
our lives, all at once.
Getting through these experiences is easier when we
remember that we are being provided with an
opportunity to review everything that has ever held us
back and to agree to release it. Once we do that, we
do not have to experience it again and even if it comes
up again, we will not respond to it in the same way.
But that is little consolation for us when our life is
turned upside down and nothing seems to work.
The path of Ascension is new to all of us and will
eventually lead us into a different kind of life, once
where we can create miracles, where we are able to
manifest the reality that we want and where life will
flow effortlessly. But first we have to go through the
void, a place where there seems to be only chaos and
pain. It is temporary and is designed to remind us to
step into our power to shift the energy and to not get
stuck in the fear. This week, if you are wondering why
your spiritual path is so difficult right now, look at what
you are experiencing. Is it familiar to you? How can you
use your power to move the energy? Remember that
the path of Ascension is not always easy but the
rewards are there when we persist, have faith and
trust that every situation is just one step on our path.

of Ascension. Ascension is not a day or an event where
we will all be whisked away from earth, it is the way we
live our lives as we fulfill our soul contract. The path of
Ascension can mean our lives get worse instead of
better as we ascend through the void, the place where
we experience and release our emotional and psychic
baggage. Archangel Uriel's message is about doing
our 'inside work'.

Whose Truth is it?
I knew someone who made it his life mission to point
out everyone's faults to them and to anyone who
happened to be nearby. He thought that people should
face their issues and be aware of everything that was
wrong with their lives. And he delivered these
messages in such a mean and unkind way that those
around him were always defending themselves against
his remarks. When he was confronted with his behavior,
he always said that he spoke the truth and that people
should not be bothered by his words. Perhaps he was
speaking the truth, but whose truth was it?
There are people who believe that they need to remind
us of our faults, our mistakes and our shortcomings and
that somehow this will help us make changes in our life.
But they are unable to recognize our successes and if
we do something well, we are reminded of all of the
other things that we did that were not successful.
Their words are not always delivered with kindness and
consideration and being around these people can simply
make us feel bad. And perhaps what they are telling us
is true-we did make mistakes and bad choices in the
past-but that is their truth based on their
perspectives, and it does not have to become ours.
We can avoid these people if possible but if not, we
can simply remind them that their truth is not ours and
then just walk away. When we can see them for who
they are and learn to feel compassion for someone who
has such a negative view of the world that they
cannot see the good in others, we can lessen the
impact that their words have on us. It does not serve
us to defend ourselves because then we acknowledge
what they are saying as the truth.
It may be a truth but it is their truth and not ours. And
these people, as difficult as they may be, have a
lesson for us, to realize our own value and not try to
convince others of it. When we learn to value ourselves
we will stop allowing others to define who we are and
will not spend time trying to be what others think we
should be. It may take time for us to be comfortable
with our own choices, even if they were the' wrong'
ones and not have to defend them against those who
make it their mission to point out every shortcoming.
Our view of our reality must be large enough to allow
us to forgive ourselves for being human and to
acknowledge the divine in everyone, even those who
want to tell us their truth. We can develop our own
truth about who we are and that is all that matters in
our world.

Uriel's Message-Do Your Inner Work
Every experience marks another step on your spiritual
path. Whether it is easy or challenging it is a call to
you to do your inside work, to look at how your
thoughts created this reality. You are all moving into
the ability to instantly manifest what you think and
speak about and the Universe instantly responds to
your energy. If you are feeling powerless you will
create a reality that reflects your belief that you are
not powerful. If your experiences are positive and
joyful, they also reflect what you have created and are
not an accident. Your inside work has to do with how
you create both joy and pain in your reality and how
you will move forward on your path.
The Universe does not punish you by deliberately
creating difficulty in your life. You experience pain
when you do not pay attention to your thoughts and
words, when you are not continuously focused on what
you want to create in your life. Do you pay attention
to what is happening in others' lives and wish that
yours reflected the same? Their success cannot
become yours and by focusing on what you are missing
in your life you simply create more of that experience.
Do you remember how you created joy in your life? Are
you focusing on what makes others happy? Do you try
to create that for yourself and are disappointed when it
does not manifest for you? Your inner work involves
what is best for you in your reality and not what
appears to work for others.
Instead of getting lost in the emotions, fear and
confusion, ask yourself what type of inside work this
situation is creating for you. Perhaps it is a lesson in
releasing fear or valuing yourself. Perhaps you have
chosen to learn a lesson about envy or jealousy. Or
perhaps you must open yourself to allowing others to
help you. Your journey is an individual one but it does
not have to be accomplished alone. In fact, some of
your karmic connections with others can only be
resolved by allowing them to help you on your own
journey.
When your response to difficult experiences is to
remind yourself that this is an opportunity to do your
inside work, you will no longer be challenged by them.
You will no longer respond with fear and get stuck in
the emotional energies. As your reality unfolds you can
see the lessons in each situation and discover the inner
work opportunities that are being created for you.
Remember too that this is also your creation-you
create your own learning experiences. What inner work
are you creating and what kind of learning is available
to you? How can you apply the lesson to your reality
so that you can live a life of joy, abundance, peace
and unconditional love? As with everything else, it is
your choice as to how your reality unfolds and when
you willingly accept opportunities to do your inside
work you move forward on your path towards the
reality that you want to create.

Today's Children--Adult Indigos and Assertiveness
Most adult Indigos are entering an unusual part of their
lives. That is to say, since many had children as young
adults they are now alone but not yet ready to retire.
Their career paths have changed several times as the
unstable work environment no longer supports lifetime
employment. Some are being forced out of the
workplace but are not yet ready for retirement. Others
are no longer satisfied with their jobs and are seeking
other avenues. Many are very interested in spiritual
healing and are wondering how to incorporate that in
their lives. And many are feeling stuck because they
are not sure how to go about getting what they want
and have, from both their upbringing and their work
experience, not learned to be assertive.
Adult Indigos, who are now in the forty to sixty-plus
age bracket, were not raised to be assertive or to ask
for what they want. Both men and women were taught
that 'nice' people do not ask for more than they are
given and should be grateful for whatever they have
and not ask for more. In a world where you have to ask
for what you want and that requires assertiveness, this
can be difficult. In fact, it is often what leads us to
feeling stuck or indecisive. We did not learn that being
assertive was an admirable quality and that it is OK to
insist on what we want.
The challenge for adult Indigos is to ask for what they
want without the fear that not only will they not get it,
but that everything else will be taken away from them
too. Finding the balance between being assertive
(asking for what you want) and aggressive (insisting
that you get it) can be hard to negotiate as most of us
can step into that energy only when we have settled
for less than what we want and are not only feeling
stuck, but are also angry with ourselves for being in
that situation once again. Now we have two problems,
how to get out of the situation and how to avoid re-
creating it.
We admire the Indigo children's ability to insist on what
they want, even if we are not always pleased with
their aggressiveness. Adult Indigos have the same
abilities but first we have to overcome our early
training that encouraged us to be accepting instead of
assertive. We will find the balance between the two
energies, assertiveness and aggressiveness so that our
needs our served. If we settle, we can review what we
did to create that situation and learn to ask for what
we want. The Universe will bring us exactly what we
believe we can receive and if we lose something in the
process of asking for what we wanted, it was not right
for us anyway.
