When Have We Ascended?
Our spiritual path is a journey of ascension and as we
increase our level of understanding we more forward
along the path that reconnects us to the Source.
Unlike other journeys, however, this one has no
beginning and no end. Wherever we are on the
ascension path reflects how far we have advanced in
learning our lessons and fulfilling our soul contract. It is
not good or bad, right or wrong. We are in control of
our movement along the ascension path just as we are
in control of every aspect of our reality. When we
focus on getting to the end of our ascension journey,
though, we are missing the point of the experience.
We cannot use benchmarks to measure whether or not
we are fulfilling our ascension journey, how far we have
come or how far we have yet to go. Ascension is an
unfolding process, one where each new understanding
puts us in a place where we can learn on a different
level, where each layer of fear that we remove allows
us to experience life from a another perspective. We
began our life at a certain level of ascension and we
will end it at a certain level. What happens in between
is what is important.
Instead of being one long, endless journey, our
ascension path is a series of small steps, each one
represented by a lesson which, when learned, moves us
forward on our path, with the opportunity to take our
lives in another direction. While we are never 'there',
we do have proof that we are making progress. Our
proof comes in the form of the feeling of peace and joy
that we feel when we renew our Source connection,
with the gift of miracles, with the fearlessness that is
ours when we step into our power, acknowledging that
we co-create our reality with the Source and that we
have the ability to create the life of our dreams.
We cannot focus our efforts on 'getting there' because
there is no destination on the ascension path. There is
no reward, no prize for being the best, the fastest or
the most efficient. It is an individual journey, one that
is unique for each of us. If we look for the end of the
journey then we are missing the most important part
because it is the lessons and learning that we
experience along the way that mark our success. Each
victory, no matter how small or insignificant it may
seem to us, is important to our soul's growth. And each
time we learn a lesson we have made progress on our
continuing ascension path. And every day brings new
opportunities to create a life of peace, joy,
unconditional love and unlimited abundance that is the
reward for choosing the path of ascension.

Let the Universe Handle It
I recently made a commitment to someone that I could
not fulfill and did not know how to tell them because I
did not want to disappoint them or hurt their feelings. I
spent some time thinking about how I would handle the
situation and finally asked the Universe for help. A few
days later the person called me and apologized because
they would be unavailable for our meeting and asked if
that would be OK. The problem was solved, no feelings
were hurt and I felt much better.
When we are faced with a situation that seems to have
no easy solution, where we simply do not know what to
do or say, the Universe will provide us with the answer.
Sometimes we make promises that we cannot keep, or
we commit to something that we later regret or even
have to handle a difficult or touchy situation with
someone whose reaction we cannot anticipate. In each
of these situations, the Universe will handle it when we
ask for help. The solution will be something that works
for everyone involved, that creates no drama or hard
feelings and everyone is satisfied with the result.
We sometimes forget that we can rely on the Universe
for all of our needs, both big and small. The Universe
does not judge how big or important our requests are,
it simply responds with the most perfect solution when
we ask for help. We just have to remember to ask and
then step back and let the Universe go to work. The
solution will come at the right time and it will solve our
problem in the most perfect way. Sometimes, as I
experienced, we will not have to say or do anything
and the solution materializes effortlessly, with no drama
or hurt feelings.
The Universe is wonderful at creating 'win-win'
outcomes, even when that does not seem possible. But
we have to remember to ask for help and then let go of
our part, allowing events to unfold as they are guided
to. This week, try asking the Universe for help with a
difficult situation that you are facing. Then let go,
trusting that a resolution is on the way. You may be
surprised by the outcome that the Universe can create
and how perfectly everything works so that everyone is
satisfied with the result. Ask, let go, and trust that the
Universe hears all of your requests, big and small, and
rushes in to help when you ask for assistance.

Uriel's Message-Angels Among You
There are angels among you and you interact with
them every day. Their purpose is to guide you through
your life, to help you when you need it most and to
provide you with opportunities to confirm your own
spiritual growth and understanding. You have proof of
their presence in your lives when you meet with
someone who extends a helping hand, who steps in to
solve a problem when it seems that no help is available,
to give you a smile, a word of encouragement or a
sympathetic ear. You will be aware of their presence
when you remember that you are never alone on your
journey.
The angels who help you are there to be of service and
they work through others. They work through people
who are guided to assist you-the helpful person who
seems to have all of the answers to your questions is
an angel sent to help you. Or the person who speaks to
you when you need to hear a friendly voice or the one
who responds to your request for help when you need
it most. Each of these angels reminds you that help is
always available to you and that no situation is
impossible to resolve.
The angels who help you with your lessons are present
in the people that you are compelled to help, the
person that comes to you for assistance, who needs to
hear a kind word from you, who needs to see your
smile, who steps into your life so that you can share
your understanding with them. These encounters may
be short but they are there so that you can share your
gifts with others. Each person that you extend your
understanding with is an angel who is there to help you
confirm your spiritual growth and understanding.
You will be aware of the presence of the angels among
you when you see others through the eyes of the heart
and recognize the divinity in everyone. When you
remember that you are supported on every step of your
journey is when you will be aware of the countless
angels among you and allow yourselves to be aware of
their presence. Each of them has a gift for you, one
that will remind you that the light is always around you.
As you share your gifts with others you become the
angels in their lives and remind them of the
unconditional love that is the greatest power in the
Universe. Each of you walks in the light and can spread
the light to everyone and bring heaven on earth when
you remember that you walk and talk with the angels
among you.

Today's Children--Taking it Personally
Adult Indigos have experienced many of the same
issues that their Indigo children are now facing. I know
that we brought in the Indigo energy so that we could
parent these children in an understanding and
compassionate way. One of the things that I remember
as a child and a young adult was how criticism and
judgment used to make me feel. I always took it very
personally and would go out of my way to avoid it.
When I had to face it, I never took it well and would
worry about it for days and weeks. I did not know, at
that time, that it was not something that I should take
personally, that I needed to be more discerning and to
look at the other person's intention and purpose in
criticizing me. But at the time, I was unable to do that
and every criticism set me back and made me doubt
myself.
Despite the Indigos' attitude that they don't care what
anyone says, they actually do care a lot more than
they let us know. And they care so much that a harsh
word, judgment or strong criticism can shut them
down, make them doubt themselves and keep them
from moving forward. Even the most brash, outspoken
and outwardly confident Indigo constantly asks
themselves 'Am I good enough', 'Am I doing this
right?', 'Am I OK?' While they appear outwardly
confident and very self-assured, they are inwardly not
so sure that they know what they are doing.
If you have Indigo children, you know that it is difficult
to tell them anything so addressing their insecurities is
probably not the best way to open the conversation to
help them overcome their insecurities. But even if they
are doing something wrong, or the wrong way, being
blunt is not the best approach either, nor is criticizing
or judging them. While they may challenge everything
we say, they are also listening for us to confirm their
doubts and fears about themselves to prove that they
are not OK, they are doing things the wrong way and
they do not know what they are doing. They will take
everything personally so what we say and do not say
will have equal weight with them. As intelligent as they
are, they often have a way of misinterpreting the most
well-meaning remarks and changing them into
something that is not even close to what we said and
then they take it personally.
Both Indigo girls and boys have this problem with taking
things personally and it can be a very difficult subject
to approach with them. When they are in the mode of
taking everything personally, everything that we do or
say can make the situation worse. But as with most
interactions with them, we can pay attention to what
they are not saying or the 'words behind the words'
and know that what they really want to know is
whether they are on the right track. They don't want
reassurance that we are doubting them, they are
already doing themselves. They just want to know that
they are all right and that things will work out for the
best. And we know that they will, in time, so we can
validate their worth, remind them that we love them
and
help them learn to not take things personally.
